TOUR DESCRIPTION & ITINERARYA Girona and the Dali Museum tour lets you take in Dali's unique art and the scenic wonders of historical Girona all in one day. This day tour is full of treats, no matter what your age, you will find something exciting waiting for you.
The Girona and the Dali Museum tour includes a visit to Figures, Dali's hometown, and where his museum is located, along with a visit to Girona because of their close proximity. Traveling by chauffeured, private van will make travel easy for everyone in your group. Please do note that the Old Town of Girona is, in large part, pedestrianized, which means exploring on foot! Guided visits of The Dali Museum are some of the best day trips from Barcelona for art lovers of all ages, with great appeal for both serious art lovers and art newcomers alike. The Dali Museum is in the artist's hometown, which was founded by Dali himself, makes for a truly unique experience of the senses. The location is the site of a 19th century theater bombed during the Spanish Civil War that the artist also used as a private residence towards the end of his life. Our Dali Museum tours include skip-the-line tickets that will let you see all the museum's unique treasures without a long wait! Emphasizing Dali's signature surrealist style, holds surprises to delight guests with different levels of familiarity with Dali's work and the unique features like the Mae West room and the Abraham Lincoln painting, make a guided visit most worthwhile for anyone who enjoys new experiences. Our family friendly guides bring his art to life for both young and older travelers encouraging everyone to be involved in our dynamic tours that are fascinating journeys into the world of surrealist art and Dali's mind. From there, it is on to Girona, for lunch and a guided walking visit of one of Spain's most historic cities. The confluence of four rivers - Galligants, Güell, Onyar and Ter - occurs in Girona. This fortunate positioning of so many forms of water transport helped Girona become a major trading town, a value that led to it transitioning from one ruler to another over the years. The earliest known inhabitants were Iberians, and it has been ruled by Romans, Visigoths, Moors, Catalans and Spaniards. Girona has also played a role in Jewish history as Jews have lived here since before they were given a choice of converting to Catholicism or leaving, which occurred in 1391 during the Papel Inquisition. Girona's Jewish quarter is one of the world's best-preserved while the city is also home to a fascinating Museum of Jewish History. A historic mikvah is one of the most famous things on display here. Other interesting religious items in Girona include the Tapestry of Creation, which may be viewed in the Museum of the Cathedral of Girona. It dates to the 11th century and is as mysterious as it is fascinating. An intriguing non-religious stop would be the Arab Baths, which were constructed in the 12th century. They're conveniently located next to the Cathedral of Girona, and fans of "Game of Thrones" will recognize them as where Arya Stark hid from the Waif. In fact, many parts of Girona have been used as settings for "Games of Thrones" scenes. A day of art, history, culture and fun make this a day to add to your vacation memory bank! WHAT'S INCLUDED

"Awesome tour!"
My wife and I booked the sights tour with a private car. The driver picked us up in a very nice Mercedes and Nancy proceeded to show us around this large city - without having to walk for hours! The knowledge she has of Barcelona and the Gaudi sites is unreal! She really brought the Sagrada Familia to life and showed many, many small and interesting details. The last hour walking tour through Barri Gotic was very cool as well - without her experience we would have never noticed dozens of interesting sites.

"Making Barcelona Special"
Nancy added tremendously to the success of this trip. Not only was her pre-trip advice about how to go about seeing things, getting tickets, and restaurant advice indispensable, the knowledge, history, and anecdotes she shared during the outings captivated the attention of everyone. Personally, I really appreciate the value added by a great tour guide over trying to read a tour book on the fly. Enchanting Barcelona Tours can make a big difference to how much you get out of a trip to Barcelona.
